Seychelles Tourism is participating for a second year at the Meetings Africa exhibition. The exhibition was officially opened by the South African Minister for Tourism, Mr. Derek Hanekom, on Tuesday morning and this set the tone for the two days of businesses and networking at the event.

The Seychelles islands are currently attending the Meetings Africa exhibition, taking place over two days in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The delegation is being led by the Seychellesโ€™ Minister for Tourism and Culture, Alain St.Ange. Also present are the Chief Executive Officer of the Seychelles Tourism Board (STB), Sherin Naiken; the Boardโ€™s Director for Administration, Jenifer Sinon; the Director for Africa and Americas, David Germain; and the Manager for the tourist office in South Africa, Lena Hoareau.

The other Seychelles partners joining the Tourism Board on the stand are Savoy Resort and Spa (Ravil Zaripov), Eden Bleu Hotel (Amanda Lang), and Air Seychelles.

It is to be noted that Minister St.Ange had the day before he officially opened the new Seychelles Tourist Office in Johannesburg, where he said that Seychelles needed to maintain a tourism presence in the heart of the country.

He said this will further boost the confidence of the travel trade in selling Seychelles and is a show of commitment by the STB in the marketplace.

Both the Minister and CEO Naiken also gave out a series of interviews to newspapers and TV stations, highlighting why Seychelles is now the exciting destination to visit.

Seychelles is a founding member of the International Coalition of Tourism Partners (ICTP) . For more information on Seychelles Minister of Tourism and Culture Alain St.Ange, click here.
