DOHA, Qatar – Qatar Airways will once again participate in the world’s largest travel and trade event, ITB Berlin, from 9-13 March 2016, and is planning to make a significant network announcement. The world’s fastest growing airline, with the youngest fleet, will announce new destinations, and will also reveal a new exhibition stand that will welcome guests from around the globe.

This year’s stand will feature particular elements of Hamad International Airport, Qatar Airways’ new home since 2014, an airport that is quickly becoming a favourite of world travellers for its passenger-centric design. Any traveller passing through the airline’s Doha hub benefits from seamless transfers at this modern, state-of-the-art airport, which offers more than 70 shops and boutiques and 30 restaurants, world class lounges, a hotel and spa inside the airport, and sports facilities.

Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive, His Excellency Mr. Akbar Al Baker, is looking forward to another successful show in Berlin: “The way people travel is changing, and ITB showcases the latest trends and innovations. We are looking forward to leading the industry with our superior business and economy products, and to announcing exciting new destinations for our passengers. We are a young company that is growing rapidly. With a current fleet of 177 modern aircraft, we are connecting even more passengers to our global network of more than 150 destinations, and offer a product that can expertly match their travel needs. This is what we will demonstrate once again this year at ITB.”

Trade fair visitors are encouraged to experience Qatar Airways’ premium products and customer service for themselves in Hall 22.B, booth 207. The airline’s A380 and A350 First Class and Business Class seats will be on display, with visitors invited to put them to the test. The First Class suite is equipped with an extendable, flat bed that is over 2.3 meters in length, along with a 26-inch high-definition screen. The Business Class seat extends to 2 meters long to convert into a complete bed and enjoys an entertainment system with a 17-inch high-definition screen.

The new destinations to be announced will add to an already exciting year of inaugurals. Qatar Airways recently started service to Los Angeles on 1 January, Ras Al Khaimah on 2 February and Sydney on 1 March. The airline will begin service to Boston, USA from 16 March; Birmingham, UK on 30 March; Adelaide, Australia from 2 May; Yerevan, Armenia from 15 May and Atlanta, USA from 1 June.

Qatar Airways will this year reveal a completely redesigned exhibition stand. The airline’s latest brand campaign theme ‘Going Places Together’ will be reflected in the redesign and activities, with the focus on bringing travelers closer together. Thus, the airline proposes a fresh, new direction. The ethos presented over the course of this communication strategy reflects the development of Qatar Airways as a brand and its role as a leader in the aerospace industry.

Last year’s ITB show featured more than 10,000 exhibitors from over 180 countries, who presented their products and services to around 175,000 visitors. This year, the leading travel exhibition in the world celebrates its 50th anniversary.
