The highly-anticipated 29th China Wedding Expo (CIWE) will be held concurrently with the China Baby Photo Expo 2016 from February 23 to 26, 2016 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre.

The highly-anticipated 29th China Wedding Expo (CIWE) will be held concurrently with the China Baby Photo Expo 2016 from February 23 to 26, 2016 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre. This year’s event, housing over 750 exhibitors from China and around the world across an expanded, 120,000-square meter space, maintains its role as one of the world’s largest bridal and wedding exhibitions.

The expo, with four exhibition platforms (the China International Wedding Dress & Fashion Accessories Expo, the China Wedding Theme Photography Expo, the China Wedding Photo Album, Frame & Supplies Expo and the China Wedding Supplies and Honeymoon Photography Expo) and 12 themed pavilions, is spread across nine exhibition halls, including the W1 hall for bridal gowns and fashion accessories, the W2 for bridal gowns and cosmetics, the W3 for theme and wedding photography as well as partnerships and franchising opportunities, the W4 serving as the new hall for internet technologies and software in addition to consulting and training for wedding photography studios, the W5 for photographic settings, supplies and wedding merchandise and the E1-E3 halls for albums and photo frames as well as photography equipment and supplies. The event, which will run concurrently with the China Baby Photo Expo which take place in the N1 Hall and part of the W5 Hall, aims to create a one-stop procurement, exhibition and communications platform for the global bridal and wedding industry.

The colors of 2016 are featured in fairytale-like bridal gowns on display

The 2016 spring series of bridal gowns promises to deliver a sense of rejuvenation with fresh colors after Masala Red became a hit in 2015. The W1 and W2 halls will exhibit a variety of delicate and elegant bridal gowns highlighting pink and pale blue colors. The exhibited gowns elegantly keep the bride’s figure by using exquisite vintage-looking lace and backless designs which help to highlight the sexy fishbone design as it fits snugly over the bride’s slender waist. In addition, many of the bridal gowns adopted the silhouette design that is widely used in haute couture, adding a new dynamic to the look and feel of the dress.

The new Internet+ exhibition hall brings together the best in industry resources

Today, a next wave of an information technologies-centered revolution is impacting all walks of life. To respond to the need for industry transformation and to leverage the Internet’s role as the main driver of the innovation-driven economic growth, the W4 Hall, the new Internet+ exhibition hall of this event, will showcase premium e-commerce resources across the wedding photography sector. Based on the Internet+ business model integrating online with offline channels, the platform will provide a full array of Internet+ solutions for traditional wedding photography studios from resource integration to marketing.

Wedding pictures can be easily created in a high-definition (HD) digital photography studio while buyers show preference for photo albums and frames made of natural materials

The HD digital photography studio that, until now, catered mainly to large groups has been adopted for the creation of wedding photographic samples as internet technologies evolve. An 80-square-meter 5D digital LED studio is now large enough for the deployment of laser display technology that can reproduce scenes of ocean-front cottages in the Maldives, an underwater world or the streets in New York, virtually eliminating the sense of that the background looks fake and doing away with the expensive costs associated with building an immense studio as well delivering a rich experience to newlyweds and their families and friends in a single shooting session. In addition, the much favored natural materials, including logs, pines and whitewoods, have replaced the once popular painted gold-trimmed photo albums and frames, as they are highly valued for their low-carbon footprint and simplicity.

The new policy that allows all couples to have a second child accelerates the development of the children’s photography market

The more relaxed family planning policy that went into effect during 2015 further boosted the development of the children’s photography segment. The 2016 event will bring together 200 leading children’s photography suppliers and service providers, including many leading firms from abroad, in the N1 pavilion. Exhibits encompass the entire children’s photography industry chain including clothing, accessories and supplies for children’s photography, photography location props, photographic samples, event planning for children’s birthdays and other types of celebrations, children’s photo albums and album accessories, as well as memorabilia products and services for pregnant women. The exhibits showcasing Korean-style products and services are expected to be the most popular among buyers. Notably, for the first time a Chinese children’s photography event deploys robots as “marketing personnel” who will give presentations on the leading industry players and their brands on demand, serving to enhance the appeal of the event and the interactive experience of attendees.

A series of concurrent events

In addition to VIP Night, an exclusive members-only event, held on the evening of February 22nd, other exciting concurrent events include the World Photographic Cup (Photographic Works Exhibition in China), 2015 China Xiao’afu Cup Awarding-Winning Baby Photos Expo, the China Portrait Photography Society Executives’ Conference, the National Portrait Photography Industry Theory Summit and “Hucai Cup” National Professional Photographer Contest Award Ceremony, the United Asian Professional Photography Presidents Conference, Now is Future- HP Indigo Image Industry Digital Printing Innovations Summit as well as the 2016 Wedding Dress Buyers and Suppliers Fair, in addition to presentations on what you need to know to open and run a successful photography studio business.

The 29th China Wedding Expo plans to also focus on boosting the development of the industry by showcasing brand improvements and service innovations as well as building an integrated trade platform for information exchange, sourcing and resource sharing.
