PHOENIX, AZ – For the fifth consecutive year, Mesa Airlines’ Maintenance and Engineering Department has been awarded the Federal Aviation Administration’s prestigious Employer’s Diamond Award of Excellence. The Diamond Award is based on 100 percent participation of the Company’s eligible Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (AMTs) proactively completing a designated amount of initial and recurrent training during 2015.

“We are delighted the FAA has recognized our maintenance people, once again, for their continued commitment to safety and training excellence,” said Chairman and CEO Jonathan Ornstein. “Very few airlines achieve this milestone, and we truly appreciate all the hard work by our training department and maintenance employees to achieve this high standard in 2015.”

The program provides incentives for maintenance technicians who work to improve safety by actively participating in training programs both independently and in programs offered by their employers.

“We are extremely proud of our team for receiving the FAA Diamond Award of Excellence for 2015,” said Vice President of Maintenance and Engineering Jeff Domrese. “It reflects not only our commitment to a Safety First Culture but also the professionalism of our Aircraft Maintenance Technicians. I would like to thank each of our AMTs for their commitment to this program and their dedication to training excellence.”
