Pulsating music, colorful costumes, and amazing voices all made the show held at the International Conference Centre last Friday night by the famous Shanxi Huajin dance troupe from China, a spectacular one.

The show by this Chinese dance troupe was part of activities to mark the third Seychelles-China Day celebrations, which was officially launched at the Eden Bleu hotel, Eden Island, on February 4.

Among those enjoying the show were the Speaker of the National Assembly, Dr. Patrick Herminie; Minister for Tourism and Culture, Alain St.Ange; Minister for Finance, Trade and the Blue Economy, Jean-Paul Adam; Minister for Foreign Affairs and Transport, Joel Morgan; Minister for Investment, Entrepreneurship Development and Business Innovation, Michael Benstrong; Charge d’affaires of China, Zhang Xiangyang; and the Chairperson of the Seychelles-Chinese Association, Charlie Ng Ping Cheun.

A large crowd of the both the local Chinese community and Seychellois alike were also there to watch the show.

How men are like in the great grasslands of China and speaking the language of spring in Shanxi were among the themes of dance performances given by the Shanxi group.

An acrobat doing hand-balancing moves and a young musician showing off her skills on the erhu were among the most appreciated performances.

The erhu is a two-stringed bowed traditional musical instrument also known in the western world as the โ€œChinese violin.โ€
