Saudi Arabian Airlines welcomes new Dreamliners, new flight crews

The flag carrier airline of Saudi Arabia, Saudi Arabian Airlines, also known as Saudia, is ready to welcome 2 new Boeing B787-9 Dreamliners this week, and with it, close to 300 new employees.

The flag carrier airline of Saudi Arabia, Saudi Arabian Airlines, also known as Saudia, is ready to welcome 2 new Boeing B787-9 Dreamliners this week, and with it, close to 300 new employees.

Based in Jeddah, Saudia announced that in addition to these 2 aircraft, another 6 will be delivered to the airline over the course of this year and 2017.

Recruitment for stewards and stewardesses to work onboard the new aircraft has been taking place, with a total of 282 people that have graduated after completing intensive training. Sixty of the recruits did their training at the Boeing Flight Services training campus in London and continued on at the Saudi Aviation Flight Academy in Jeddah. The remaining 222 recruits attend intensive training as well.

Saudiaโ€™s main operational base is located at Jeddah-King Abdulaziz International Airport.
