INDIA (eTN) – Goa, the popular former Portugal colony in west India, expects to get wide exposure as the result of a European Union program, under which six Goans will travel to Liverpool and South Africa, as part of an exchange program to promote culture.

Similarly, six artists will come to Goa from the UK city and from South Africa. The EU-funded program is for three years, said Nikhil Desai, MD, Goa Tourism Development Corporation in New Delhi, India, yesterday, January 20.

The state, which attracts domestic and international tourists, is also soon launching a portal where all facilities, attractions, and packages will be available.

Goa is also set for the Goa Carnival from February 6 to 9, and the Goa Wine Festival. Desai said that high-paying Russian tourists had started coming back to Goa, after a slight decline last year.
