Ferien-Messe Wien has attracted 830 exhibitors from over 70 different countries. Among those was Reunion Island, represented by Marie-Christin Strecker, responsible for marketing and promotion across the German-speaking markets for the Reunion Island Tourism Board. The home airline, Air Austral, and the hotel group Lux were also represented on the stand which IRT shared with Austrian tour operators RUEFA.

This year, the Ferien-Messe Wien show welcomed a staggering 150,000 visitors over the three days which ended a few days ago. This public event dedicated to the tourism sector is one of the largest in the Austrian capital. The Frankfurt branch of Reunion Island Tourism (IRT), together with its partners and Lux Air Austral, went on the show to meet with Austrian travelers.

The Ferien-Messe was held in parallel with two other key events, the Vienna Autoshow (dedicated to automotive) and Genusswelt (dedicated to gastronomy). Some 150,000 visitors crammed the aisles of these three events, the most high-profile consumer fairs held every year in Vienna. This high attendance is attributed to the keen desire of Austrians to vacation abroad and looking for exotic places for their holidays.

Ferien-Messe Wien is recognized as a high-value and quality event and nearly nine out of ten respondents (87.2%) who were polled said they were very satisfied, while nearly every visitor, 96.6% to be precise, said they would without hesitation recommend a visit to their friends.

The German team of Reunion Island Tourism also exhibited at the season opening CMT Stuttgart 2016, the first of Germany’s major tourism fairs this year. CMT attracted more than 240,000 visitors from Germany but also from as far as France and Switzerland.
