Sharjah, a prosperous emirate in the UAE, has mounted a campaign to increase awareness in the Indian outbound travel market.

At a roadshow in Delhi, India, on December 9, and in Mumbai on December 10, destination attractions and products, as well as Air Asia officials, interacted with the travel trade and media to highlight the many attractions and facilities in Sharjah, under the theme, โ€œSmile, You are in Sharjah.โ€

Air Asia LCC spoke of its wide network, seat capacity, and baggage allowance, along with visa options to get the growing Indian outbound traveler to use its services.

This is the second year that the emirates industry has come to India for such a show, with greater participation this year than ever.

Annually, Sharjah receives 2 million international visitors and wants to increase this to 10 million by 2020.
