The Minister for Tourism and Culture, Alain St.Ange, has this week met the staff of the Seychelles Tourism Board’s marketing department as part of the series of meetings being held with each section.

The meetings are aimed at reviewing what has been achieved so far by the Tourism Board, to discuss the challenges of the sections, and to discuss the way forward for the coming year.

Held in the minister’s conference room, the meeting with the marketing staff of the Tourism Board was attended by the Principal Secretary for Tourism, Anne Lafortune; the Deputy Chief Executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board, Nathalie Didon; and the Board’s Director for Administration and Human Resource, Jenifer Sinon.

At present, there are three seniors and eight marketing executives working in the Tourism Board’s marketing department.

Addressing the all-female marketing team, Minister St.Ange said there is a need for the marketing staff to meet more regularly as he proposed a daily chaired by the senior executives and weekly meetings chaired by the CEO of the Board.

The Minister added that by working closely together, the team will be able to move forward. Minister St.Ange commended them for their hard work and urged them to keep looking for new ways to better their work, and to have a greater understanding of the trade.

“We need to keep working together to find new ways of doing things, to present new ideas, and move in one direction as one team,” Minister St.Ange said.

“This meeting is a chance for us to sit and evaluate what has been done so far until now and for you to put forward the challenges that you are facing. By working together to overcome our challenges, we can work better, and this will improve on how we deliver for our industry. We must remember that our tourism industry is the pillar of our economy and as the marketing department, you need to work as a team as we continue to move forward so that tourism remains as successful as it is today.”

Minister St.Ange said the department staff meetings he is doing enables him to remain in contact with the staff of the Seychelles Tourism Board and to be able to address their concerns
