ISTANBUL, Turkey – For the first time in its history, Turkish Airlines has written “Türkiye’ye yatırım yapın / Invest in Turkey” on the body of a plane. The “Invest in Turkey” plane will call for international investors in the sky, flying to target destinations and inviting investors.
Having been named the “Best Airline in Europe” in 2015 for the fifth time, and flying to a total of 283 destinations in 111 countries, including 50 domestic and 233 international destinations, Turkish Airlines has taken an action to attract international investors. Turkish Airlines has supported the Republic of Turkey Prime Ministry Investment Support and Promotion Agency by writing “Invest in Turkey” on the body of the TC-JIZ registered Airbus 330 type plane in its fleet.
Honored by İlker Aycı, Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee of Turkish Airlines (THY) and Arda Ermut, President of the Prime Ministry Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Turkey (ISPAT), the “Invest in Turkey” plane was introduced for the first time at the meeting held at THY Technic’s new aerodrome.
The Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee of Turkish Airlines İlker Aycı said that the message of “Invest in Turkey” was given with a plane for the first time in THY’s history. Aycı reminded that he also served as the President of the Prime Ministry Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Turkey from January 2011 to April 2015, underlying the importance he attaches to attracting investments. Aycı emphasized that applying a livery on a plane would contribute significantly to the promotion of Turkey and said, “Invest in Turkey” has been written on the body of a plane for the first time in THY’s history. We would like to draw the world’s attention to investing in Turkey by applying an exclusive “Invest in Turkey” livery on an Airbus 330 type plane in THY’s fleet.
This text will travel around the world on the plane and invite foreign investors to Turkey. As is known, we changed the Wi-Fi password in Ataturk Airport International Lines Terminal CIP hall as “investinTurkey” and invited foreign investors to invest in Turkey; this time we shared the same message in the sky.”
Prime Ministry Investment Support and Promotion Agency (ISPAT) President Arda Ermut said this favor of THY has been a source of a motivation for them, and added: “The synergy between two prominent organizations such as our Investment Agency [which has assumed the mission of promoting Turkey’s investment climate to the global business community and serving as a one-stop solution partner for all ventures of international investors] and Turkish Airlines [the national flag carrier airline] is increasingly getting stronger.”
Ermut said the Prime Ministry Investment Agency, which was founded as part of innovative, competitive and prosperous Turkey’s vision to successfully bring the profound transformation it has realized in the past 12 years to the future, gives efforts to transfer Turkey’s vast potential to investment projects that will create high value-added and technology. He added, “As an organization that has used many different platforms so far to promote Turkey – an island of stability in its region – to international business community and raise awareness on Turkey’s investment environment, that has held events throughout the world, the rise of this plane that will carry our slogan “Invest in Turkey / Türkiye’ye Yatırım Yapın” to skies, will be a source of pride for us.”
From now on, the Prime Ministry Investment Support and Promotion Agency of Turkey will have an opportunity that has probably not been offered to any other investment agencies in the world. We will be present in a brand new channel, in the sky. I hereby would like to extend my gratitude to the Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee of Turkish Airlines İlker Aycı in person, and to our national flag carrier airline that has been named the Best Airline in Europe for five times, flies to the highest number of destinations in the world and assumes a great responsibility in carrying the brand of Turkey for its contributions to promoting Turkey with this plane that carries a livery of the Agency’s slogan.”
