INDIA (eTN) – Travel between India and San Francisco will get a further boost from December 2 when Air India launches its much-awaited direct nonstop flight from Delhi to this major US gateway.
The flight will be three times a week and deploy a B777. Connectivity from other India cities will also improve because of the wide domestic network of Air India.
San Francisco was the first US city to start an office in India through Sartha Marketing. Last year, 149,000 Indians visited San Francisco, which is a major draw because of its many attractions.
The announcement of the new flight is one of the first major acts of the new Chairman and Managing Director of Air India, Ashwani Lohani, who has also launched attractive domestic packages, in an effort to turn around the national carrier.
San Francisco travel has been active in the marketplace, and the new service will help this sentiment.
