The Angeles National Forest north of Glendora, California, is on fire.

The Angeles National Forest of the U.S. Forest Service is located in the San Gabriel Mountains and Sierra Pelona Mountains and a popular tourist hang out mostly for local travelers abd primarily within Los Angeles County in southern California More than 1,800 acres of this foresr had been on fire all afternoon with no end in site.

Structures were threatened by the fire.

Another fire was reported in the hills above Simi Valley, prompting an aggressive response from firefighters in the air and on the ground
About 500 homes were threatened, but no evacuations have been ordered.

The fire department was receiving help from several other agencies, including the Los Angeles County Fire Department and the Los Angeles Fire Department.

Smoke from the fire could be seen from the Malibu Hills
