Guernsey: St. Peter Port more expensive than London for travelers

Saint Peter Port, the capital of Guernsey in the Channel Islands, has been identified as the third most expensive destination in the UK and Ireland, according to a survey conducted by Cheaprooms.co.uk

Saint Peter Port, the capital of Guernsey in the Channel Islands, has been identified as the third most expensive destination in the UK and Ireland, according to a survey conducted by Cheaprooms.co.uk.

The survey compared hotel rates across 40 popular destinations in the UK and Ireland for August 2015. Other major cities across the Channel Islands, as well as the Isle of Man, were also included.

In St. Peter Port, travelers will have to pay an average of ยฃ104 per night for the most affordable double room in August. Only Edinburgh (ยฃ134) and Bath (ยฃ106) rank as more expensive.

Surprisingly, London ranks as only the 5th most expensive destination, costing an average ยฃ97 per night, just ahead of Saint Helier, the capital of Jersey, where travelers will have to spend on average ยฃ97 per night.

The following table shows the 10 most expensive summer destinations in the UK and Ireland. Prices reflect the average daily rate for each locationโ€™s cheapest available double room for the period spanning August 1st -31st. Only centrally located hotels or inns rated 3 stars or above have been considered for the survey.
