British men outspend women on pre-holiday travel beauty treatments

LONDON, England – Would you believe men are spending over £400 ($625) on beauty treatments before they go on holiday?

Women may get flack for taking their time to get ready in the morning but it’s apparently the men who are over-preparing for their holidays.

New research has revealed a staggering 19 percent of holiday-making males admit to spending over £400 on beauty treatments and clothing before jetting off.

In comparison, only 8 percent of women spent the same amount – who said gender stereotypes were still in place?

Leading brand Gala Bingo commissioned the independent survey to celebrate its search for the most ‘Marbs’ person in the UK.

The survey found over a quarter of people who have been to the popular Spanish city of Marbella spent £200-£300 on beach prep alone.

When that figure is compared people who holiday in France, Italy and Portugal, it is gobsmacking.

Those who dodged Marbella spent a modest £50 or less on their pre-tan and holiday wardrobe.

Alison Digges, Brand Director at GalaBingo.com, said: “It’s interesting that our research has shown The Only Way is Essex has influenced many holiday-goers, and made them want to enjoy the glamour of Marbella.
