Alaska was struck by a 6.2 earthquake on Tuesday night, July 28, 2015 approximately 150 miles from Anchorage.
Some residents felt shaking and ran from their homes, and the movement also interrupted a news conference.
The shaking which lasted for about 10 seconds, was felt in Fairbanks, about 235 miles away, and as far south as Kodiak, Valdez and Seward, more than 300 miles away.
There have been no reports of damage or injuries.
No tsunami report was generated.
