Hertz Global Holdings, Inc. today announced that its Hertz Equipment Rental Corporation (HERC) subsidiary has named IT veteran Richard Marani as its Chief Information Officer (CIO), reporting to Larry Silber, President and CEO of HERC. Mr. Marani joins HERC as part of its preparation for its separation from Hertz as a stand-alone company.

“We are pleased to welcome Rich to the HERC senior leadership team,” said Silber. “Rich Marani has a track record of delivering on business critical IT objectives and overseeing successful information system transformations. He will be an invaluable asset to HERC as we plan for our future. Rich has already led an information technology team through a spin-off transaction and brings executive-level IT experience to ensure that our infrastructure enables our business plans.”

Mr. Marani has more than 30 years of IT experience across industrial products, construction equipment, aerospace, and information technology businesses. As HERC CIO, Mr. Marani will ensure that the Company has the proper technologies and systems in place to support the planned separation and future growth. Mr. Marani began his career at General Electric, transitioning into IT and going on to become an Information Technology Leader. Following a successful role at United Technologies, Mr. Marani joined Ingersoll Rand Corporation in 2002 as Vice President of IT, where he was responsible for the development and implementation of global IT strategies. While there, he built out IT systems in advance of the spin-off of the Construction Equipment division to Doosan Infracore, leaving with the spin to assume the IT leadership role at Doosan. After four years there he returned to Ingersoll in a senior IT leadership role, responsible for global IT strategy for a $3 billion sector of the Ingersoll portfolio.
