ARLINGTON, VA – Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC), the financial settlement link between airlines and travel sellers, reported today that the consolidated dollar value of airline tickets sold by US-based travel agencies decreased 1.17 percent for the first five months of 2015, compared to the same period in 2014, totaling $40.4 billion vs. $40.9 billion.
May 2015 ticket sales decreased by 5 percent to $8.5 billion against the same month last year.
Ticket transactions increased by 4.22 percent in 2015 vs. 2014 to 68.2 million. Passenger segments increased 2 percent to 154 million, compared to 151 million in 2014.
