Seychelles Minister for Tourism and Culture Alain St.Ange has called on the newly-crowned “Miss Seychelles…another world” Linne Freminot and her two princesses to remain who they are. Linne and the second princess, Genevieve Rene, along with their parents paid a courtesy call on Minister St.Ange at his office at the Espace building. Also present was the chief executive of the Seychelles Tourism Board Sherin Naiken.

They were among the 12 contestants who were vying for the crown. Linne and Genevieve were crowned on the night of May 30 at the Constance Ephelia Resort.

Both ladies won another title aside from their crowns. Linne won the best effort for project title which is aimed at working with young children whose parents are prison convicts. Her goal is to prevent the children of offenders from one day getting involved in criminal activities due to the fact that their parents are absent. Genevieve was awarded the Miss Talent title.

Minister St.Ange said the pageant is an important part of our tourism and culture as it puts forth the beauty of the Seychellois people.

“I wish that this title you now hold as Seychelles’ new beauty queen and princess will open doors for you and that you grab these chances you get,” Minister St.Ange told them.

“The Ministry of Tourism and Culture and the Seychelles Tourism Board will work closely with the three of you.”

As an ambassador for Seychelles, Linne will be attending tourism trade fairs abroad along with a strong team from the Seychelles Tourism Board and the Minister.

“I call on you to remain who you are, to portray your pleasant personalities, and to stay close to your family as you will need their support. I urge you to reflect on your new roles now that you have been crowned and you will be the new faces of the country,” said Minister St.Ange.

The girls’ parents have expressed their joy on their daughters’ attainments and echo the same words as the minister for them to remain with their pleasant personalities and to be good role models for the youths.

Linne will be representing Seychelles in the 65th Miss World pageant which will be held at the Beauty Crown Theatre in Sanya, China on December 19.
