The Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) and The Consulate General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Mumbai, India, signed a historic MOU for a period of 5 years for promoting a bi-lateral “Indo-VietNam Tourism Cooperation” in front of a packed house at a tourism workshop on June 5 in Mumbai.

The intent of the MOU is to create a market for tourism to Vietnam from India and vice versa, as well as to develop ties for investments and opportunities along with the promotion of bilateral tourism between members of TAAI and Vietnam. Both parties shall create and develop programs for attracting tourism and related activities with the help of each other.

Plans are on the anvil to conduct tourism promotions, workshops, and roadshows for trade education, in addition to the easing of visa processing for agents, and organizing delegations to and from Vietnam for the travel fraternity, thus paving the way for the promotion and increase of tourism exchanges and cooperation between the countries for their mutual benefit, and in accordance with the domestic laws in both countries.

Consul General HE Vu Son Thuy and Tourism Council Chairman Mr. Jay Bhatia signed the MOU. This memorandum shall be exclusive between TAAI and the Consulate General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, Mumbai.
