Reunion Island spreads destination information at Madagascar’s International Tourism Fair

The fourth edition of the International Tourism Fair Madagascar (ITM) will take place from May 28-30, 2015 at the Carlton Hotel in the Madagascan capital, Antananarivo.

The fourth edition of the International Tourism Fair Madagascar (ITM) will take place from May 28-30, 2015 at the Carlton Hotel in the Madagascan capital, Antananarivo. The site of tourism exchanges, ITM is an opportunity to meet the players and international actors in the Indian Ocean area. Reunion Island Tourism (IRT) is the meeting destination on this B2B event, alongside the regional airline, Air Austral.

Organized by the National Tourism Office of Madagascar (ONTM), ITM 2015 is a show dedicated to the Vanilla Islands. The IRT is participating in this event in the B2B area dedicated to the Indian Ocean islands.

For the IRT, the presence of Reunion Island at the show revolves around several axes:

– Developing awareness of the island with international professionals and the Indian Ocean area;

– To perfect their knowledge of the destination;

– Capturing a foreign clientele of passing residents and expatriates;

– Position Reunion Island as a destination must that is close the Indian Ocean area;

– Increase sales in the short and medium term; and

– Develop exchanges and partnerships between operators of the two islands and particularly in the context of the combined Vanilla Islands.

Confirming its regional roots, the ITM 2015 will be an opportunity to meet, and a place of exchange and federation among all tourism stakeholders in Madagascar and their counterparts in the Indian Ocean and international destinations.

The ITM fair is a unique opportunity to present the islandโ€™s offerings and tourist products in the Indian Ocean area to a local target composed of expatriates and from long-haul travelers who travel more in the area. As with every year, the ONTM invites, during an eductour, fifty tour operators and travel agents from the countries of the East, Italy, France, South Africa, Japan, or Germany. The objective is to enable them to meet professionals of the Indian Ocean tourism at the show. Plus there will be a space dedicated to networking set up on the GTI to facilitate exchanges between the players and improve expertise.
