FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Azul, Brazil’s largest airline by number of cities served, announced a partnership today with the Fort Lauderdale Strikers, South Florida’s only professional soccer team, that includes the Azul logo and marks being featured on the Strikers players’ jerseys for all remaining 2015 matches.

Strikers Managing Partner Ricardo Geromel, a Brazilian native, made the announcement: “We are pleased to welcome Azul to the Strikers family as a partner,” said Mr. Geromel. “Azul has a sterling reputation as a service-friendly airline that delivers value to its customers. We are eager to team up with Azul on exciting promotions.”

The agreement also includes Azul promotions on-site at Strikers games and elsewhere in the South Florida community.

Azul commenced daily nonstop flights between Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood International and Sao Paulo/Campinas on December 2 last year, and is adding another three weekly roundtrips on the route starting July 1.

“We’re big fans of the Strikers and big fans of Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood,” said Azul’s Founder and CEO David Neeleman. “As we add more and more flights from Fort Lauderdale to Brazil, we look forward to welcoming Strikers fans onboard.”

Azul has been recognized four separate times as the “Best LowCost Carrier in Latin America,” by Skytrax, a leading airline review and ratings service.
