MEXICO CITY, Mexico – Grupo Aeromexico S A B de C V today reported its unaudited consolidated results for the first quarter 2015.
KEY FINANCIAL HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE FIRST QUARTER 2015
• Grupo Aeromexico’s first quarter 2015 revenues reached $10.68 billion pesos; a 9.2% year-on-year increase.
• Grupo Aeromexico reported operating profit of $526 million pesos for the first quarter 2015; an increase six times that of the prior year, this also represents 20 consecutive quarters of positive EBIT results. Operating margin reached 4.9%, a 4.0 percentage point improvement compared to the same period of 2014.
• First quarter EBITDAR reached $2.42 billion pesos; a 66.8% increase compared to the prior year. EBITDAR margin amounted to 22.6%, 7.8 percentage points higher than in 1Q of 2014.
• This quarter´s financial results reflect the positive impact of reduced fuel prices and the negative impact of Mexican peso depreciation against the US dollar. CASK in pesos decreased 5.2% while CASK in dollars decreased 16.0%, maintaining Grupo Aeromexico´s cost discipline.
• First quarter net income reached $185 million pesos with a 1.7% margin.
• Grupo Aeromexico retired three aircraft under operating lease agreements from its fleet during the first quarter of 2015: one B767, one B737-700 and one E-145. The Company added two B787-8 Dreamliners under financial lease agreements. Grupo Aeromexico also added three aircraft to its fleet under operating lease agreements: one B737-800, one E-170/175 and one E-190. Grupo Aeromexico’s operating fleet therefore consisted of 126 aircraft, an increase of two aircraft compared to the fourth quarter of 2014.
