HUA HIN, Thailand – You and your loved one will find the popular beach resort village of Hua Hin, located on the Gulf of Siam, an exciting destination to experience a number of different outdoor activities, including fishing, eco-cruising, kite-boarding, elephant camping and snorkeling.

The city has three important events that you can plan your wedding day around – the Thailand International Kite Festival held during March, April and May, the Hua Hin Jazz Festival held in June and the Hua Hin Vintage Car Rally, an annual parade of vintage and classic cars beginning in Bangkok and ending in Hua Hin.

For that most important day, the Anantara Resort Hua Hin has two wedding packages to offer couples – a traditional Thai wedding and a western wedding package – all organized by the resort’s accomplished wedding planner and team.

Couples who choose the Thai wedding package can expect the exotic charm of a traditional Buddhist ceremony, followed by a celebration and photographs in a tropical garden.

Your authentic Thai wedding day will begin with a religious wedding ceremony held at your ‘home’ in the resort’s Thai Village. The two-hour ceremony is announced by a Thai long drum parade and dancers, who will escort the groom to the bride’s resort ‘home’ in what’s called a “Hae Khaan Maak” or community parade. Afterwards, the “Pook Mue” sacred, chord-tying ceremony and the “Rod Nam Sang” family gathering will take place, followed by the cutting of the cake.

The wedding package includes nine monks to conduct the wedding ceremony, nine monks to whom you’ll deliver food alms to, the traditional Thai wedding equipment including garlands for the bride and groom, an upgrade of three nights to a romantic Anantara Suite or Lagoon room, a gourmet breakfast, master of ceremonies, tailor-made wedding cake and bottle of sparkling wine, authentic herbal drink during the ceremony and an Anantara signature massage.
After the ceremony, enjoy a romantic dinner for two or a gala dinner for up to 120 guests, organized by the wedding planner.

If you wish to extend your stay for a honeymoon, or provide rooms for guests overnight, special rates for accommodations and meals are available. Additional arrangements for a photographer, videographer, hair and make-up stylist, trio band and marriage registration fee can be made for couples.

The package costs 80,000 Thai baht during the busy season (November-April) and 75,000 Thai baht during the rest of the year. Prices are subject to a 10 percent service charge and applicable government tax.

Couples who’d prefer a western wedding have their options of having the ceremony take place in several locations, including on the beach, in the spa garden or the Anantara garden. Following the ceremony, enjoy drinks with family and friends and end the evening with a romantic dinner for two or a gala dinner for you and your guests. Your western wedding package will include an upgrade of three nights to a romantic Anantara Suite or Lagoon room, a daily gourmet breakfast, a tailor-made wedding cake, sparkling wine for toasting, massage for bride and groom, authentic herbal drink, a tropical floral archway and more. Held on the garden lawn or on the beach, the ceremony will feature romantic background music as the bride walks down the aisle, a Master of Ceremony to conduct the wedding and an exchange of wedding vows and rings. The one-hour ceremony will be followed by a pre-dinner cocktail party at the ceremony location, Beach Bar or in the garden area. Afterwards, a gala dinner and wedding party will take place with chefs preparing a gourmet selection of Thai or International cuisine. For the more adventurous, a dance floor can be set up, with a live band or fireworks to mark the special day.

The ceremony package is 75,000 baht during the high season (November-April) and 70,000 baht the rest of the year. Optional arrangements include a photographer, videographer, hair and make-up stylist, trio band and marriage registration fee.
