LOS ANGELES, California – Mövenpick Hotel Zürich-Regensdorf is located in the north of the Swiss city of Zürich, close to the Swiss Alps. The completely renovated 4-star hotel offers all the services and facilities of a first class business hotel. It also has a large congress hall and 19 innovatively designed seminar rooms making it an ideal location for meetings or events.

Green Globe congratulates Mövenpick Hotel Zürich-Regensdorf on its re-certification for the fourth consecutive year and on its magnificent achievement of attaining a 97% compliance score against accredited criteria.

Pascal Rüegg, General Manager of Mövenpick Hotel Zürich-Regensdorf said, “To reach re-certification by Green Globe for the 4th time in a row makes me very proud. This certification acknowledges our engagement in building a sustainable future and we will maintain our efforts for the next generation.”

The hotel adheres to sustainable best practices in all of its operations. Effective energy saving measurements include a state-of-the-art boiler that uses waste heat from the refrigeration system as part of its heat recovery process and the installment of LED lighting and motion sensors. Also, new electrical appliances are purchased in accordance with specified energy criteria.

Investments in water saving devices including faucet aerators, dual flush toilet systems and waterless urinals have reduced water consumption. Also, to minimalize the hotel’s impact on the environment eco-certified products are available in guest bathrooms while biodegradable cleaning and washing products are preferred. In addition, guests are encouraged to become involved with the hotel’s eco-friendly policies by reusing towels.

As a member of the Energy Agency the hotel is dedicated to reducing carbon emissions and optimizing energy efficiency. Mövenpick Hotel Zürich-Regensdorf promotes the use of public train services and operates its own free airport shuttle. An onsite charging station is also available where guests can recharge fuel-efficient vehicles.

To support local industries and further reduce carbon emissions, restaurants at Mövenpick Hotel Zürich-Regensdorf source seasonal and regional products. The hotel also purchases Fair Trade products and MSC certified fish as part of its sustainable objectives.

Mövenpick Hotel Zürich-Regensdorf regularly sponsors various organizations in the community in line with its social and corporate responsibilities. As one of its initiatives, the hotel launched a promotion where restaurant guests received their order of Tatar (a beef dish) in the shape of a heart. For each Tatar meal sold a donation was made to a project that supports children with cancer.
