Fifteen athletes are competing for the trophy for Best Overseas Athlete 2014, and among them is Amaury Moz Lavernhe, who took the title of World Champion Bodyboarder in September 2014. He is also an Honorary Ambassador for Reunion Island Tourism (IRT) representing the colors the island wherever he goes.
2014: THE YEAR OF MOZ!
After winning the title of Champion of France 2014 and the World Champion Bodyboarding title for 2014, Amaury Lavernhe continues to expand his already rich chart of athletic accomplishments. He won two individual medals including one gold in drop-knee and one silver in open gentlemen, as well as two medals as France team captain, including one gold in team relay and a silver in the team classification at the end of the world championships (ISA Games 2014).
The bodyboarding champion who chanted, “Vive la France en Bleu Blanc Rouge,” now has fishing high on his agenda, spending time at the iconic spot, Three Ponds. Amaury Lavernhe Moz has always shown his special attachment to Reunion Island, serving as an Honorary Ambassador since March 8, 2012. His hope now is to bring attention to his home island by winning the title of Best Overseas Athlete for 2014.
