Belgium soldiers were stationed at possible targets of terrorist attacks across Belgium on January 17, security officials said, France 24 reported.
The army, which is being deployed to reinforce police for the first time in 30 years, is also protecting buildings in the Jewish quarter of Antwerp. Belgium has increased its terror warning to the second-highest level as France and other European nations also remain on high alert in response to the terrorist attacks in Paris. The deployment comes a day after police raids captured dozens of terrorism suspects across the continent.
