The largest outdoor-themed film festival in Europe, the European Outdoor Film Tour (EOFT), starts its tour from October 11, 2014 and will run through February 2015 with Reunion Island named as one of the official partners of the event renowned for thrill seekers on the German stage of the tour.

The EOFT, the most famous event of the European outdoor community, is back in action for its fourteenth consecutive year. The festival went on tour across Europe to show the public a selection of more than 2 hours of best outdoor movies and adventures of the year. In total, more than 240 parties are planned in 13 countries. The program for each evening will be 8 films that will be projected on the big screen, facing an audience of outdoor enthusiasts and those who love adventure sports and are active, mobile, and open-minded.

This year, Reunion Island Tourism (IRT) is considered an official partner of EOFT during the German stages in the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). Reunion Island is the only tourist destination represented in this way. At their side are major brands like Mammut Gore-Text and BMW to complete the picture of the partners of this major event.

As a partner, the logo of the destination meeting place of the IRT will appear on all promotional material: displays, tickets, flyers, website of the event, postcards, trailer of the tour, the Welcome screen, and social networks.

Different ads are also planned in magazines, and a sub-page dedicated to Reunion Island. The promotional film will be broadcast on Reunion Island on the opening nights taking place over 140 dates in nearly a hundred cities in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. An 8-page brochure dedicated to Reunion Island and edited for the occasion will be distributed to 2,000 spectators expected each night, increasing visibility to more than 200,000 people in total.

The IRT has also developed an online contest in collaboration with Lux Resorts hotel group and the regional airline, Air Austral. Communication about the competition is being disseminated via a newsletter with a link and the teaser of the meeting destination.

Through EOFT, IRT has several objectives:

– capture the attention of a target public on Reunion Island;

– position Reunion Island as attractive for lovers of adventure and outdoor destinations;

– raise the profile of the island in German-speaking territories;

– hit a target consisting of outdoor enthusiasts;

– work together with partners in the destination (tour operators, hotels, airlines); and

– benefit from the reputation of the EOFT and targeted base data.
