GRAND PRAIRIE, TX – Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, the world’s largest regional theme park company, is the recipient of the first ever Texas Travel Industry Association Heritage Award. Jim Reid-Anderson, Chairman, President and CEO of Six Flags accepted the award at Tuesday night’s Texas Travel Summit held on Galveston Island.

“It was truly an honor and a privilege to be recognized by our industry colleagues in such a special way,” said Reid-Anderson. “We believe Angus Wynne, Jr. would be very proud of the company that he founded some 54 years ago. Our team members are committed to carrying on his legacy of family fun and thrills for all ages.”

Six Flags operates three parks in Texas โ€“ Six Flags Over Texas, its flagship location in Arlington; Hurricane Harbor, a 47-acre water park also in Arlington; and Six Flags Fiesta Texas, located in San Antonio.

“We are proud to select Six Flags Entertainment as our first recipient of TTIA’s Heritage Award,” said David Teel, President/CEO of the Texas Travel Industry Association (TTIA). “The organization’s long-standing commitment of excellence to their customers and their community has enriched the heritage of the travel industry in Texas. By providing great moments and memories that last a lifetime, Six Flags parks in Texas have made life better for many over the past 50 years.”
