TTT Chair and Member for Barron River Michael Trout said for the region to have the best possible to chance to be seen, there needed to be as many people as possible attend.

“We couldn’t think of a better or more iconic place to capture some of best pics of the Atherton Tablelands. The Curtain Fig Tree is nestled among World Heritage Listed rainforest so the lighting is ideal at this time of day.

Another tourism operator getting on board with the action is @SkyrailCairns who have offered 15 free return seats in its Diamond View and four seats in its Canopy Glider open air gondola for those wanting to take part in their Instameet at 10am on Saturday, October 4.

“We weren’t surprised at the level of interest shown in our Instameet at all and would welcome anyone who would still like to participate, to contact us,” Mr Pocock said.

“With the continual rapid growth of social media and digital development as a whole, it is important to ensure we remain current, if not ahead of trends.

On the day, the hashtag is #thisisqueensland, as well as #discoverathertontablelands and #exploretnq and for those travelling with Skyrail, simply #skyrail. There will be prize giveaways on the day including a $1000 Queensland holiday.

“Make sure you are following @athertontablelands, @queensland, @tropicalnorthqueensland on Instagram to see all the fantastic photos coming through,” Mr Trout added.
